msi z87-g43 memory question

Hi all,have a question for u. Is it possible to only use one ddr3 memory module instead of 2 or more??
I have 1 module

Corsair vengeance Dual channel DDR3 1600mhz
modelnumber:CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10

now i run with 2 kingston modules with 4gb total.
